So I was planning on using the current HDD from my computer for a new build. My plan was to put pictures, valuable material, etc. on a USB or two, get Windows 10 on a USB, then wipe the HDD and use that. I am not going to get an SSD right away but I figured this might be the best option. But, recently I've been thinking and the thought of somehow if a USB (or I) messed up for some reason then all of that information would be gone. Would you guys think it would be worth it to get a cheap, 500 GB HDD, put that in the old computer and put all of the stuff from my current 1 TB HDD onto that, then move my clean 1 TB HDD to my new computer?
