I have an old Toshiba 500 GB HDD(7200rpm 32 MB cache)on a ryzen system(Ryzen 5 1500X).It is constantly hitting 100% usage and pc hangs quite a lot.I tried turning off services but nothing happens
I am planning to buy WD Blue 1 TB 7200rpm 64mb cache (WD10EZEX).
Will it ensure good performance for my system?
I am on a tight budget.

Solution
To be 100% honest I am not sure, as long as it is a 7200rpm drive you should not have any issues. I also see that the WD Blue 7200 rpm has 64MB cache which is good. Look at Seagate as well and compare them. My opinion is go for a 7200rpm drive.

It all depends what is using the disk to its max. What service/task is causing 100% usage or is the disk just full ( 500GB used)? If the disk is full ( 500GB used) the 1TB will improve performance. If a service/task is running the disk to 100% then you first need to fix that issue as adding a larger disk might not fix the issue. Hope this makes sense.

I cannot figure out what to do
Even though my pc boots up real fast
it hangs specially during transfers if I click on any other thing or even refresh.
I have turned off services and indexing but to no help
so I thought maybe buying a new one would help since my HDD is too old.

Your hard drive might be starting to fail. getting a new drive sounds like a good option.

so should I go for WD Blue 7200 rpm 1 TB?Will it ensure good performance and reduce 100% hdd usage which I am facing? My system often hangs due to 100% usage.I cannot afford WD Black since is too costly here in India approx 100 USD.Are there any more alternates in HDD only (not sshd or ssd)?
