Hey all,

I just installed my new HDD and am in the process of moving Steam to the new drive, thanks to the community's support. I have one more question regarding this new drive installation:

My PC came equipped with 3 hard drive power connectors, all spliced together on one line of cable. Should the one ground wire, which came taped to the outside of my original HDD, cover the grounding needs of all three connections, or do I need to attach a new ground wire for every new hard drive?

Thanks,
Colin

I'm trying to visualize this in my mind and I'm a little at a loss. All you should have to do is plug the connector into the hard drive. There's no additional grounding that you should have to worry about. Multiple connectors on a single cable is a common configuration.

Gotcha. Already did that part and the hard drives are working fine, I just wanted to make sure I didn't need a ground wire to keep the new drive from frying. The original drive has a ground wire, which is marked "HDD," electrical-taped onto its exterior. I just wasn't sure if that single ground wire covered all of the hard drive connections or not.
