Question HDD is not recognized in sata 0

I recently bought cd-rom to sata adapter, to use second hdd or ssd in my system but when i put it in my laptop the old sata 0 wont recognize my hdd.
Only the new adapter that i bought is recognizing my hdd, now i cant use my old hdd spot what should i do ?!! pls help ;(

yes and i did boot it in default settings incase i messed with them.

Go to Start > Search and type "Create and format hard disk partitions". Do you see both the new and old HDD's listed? Have they been partitioned and assigned a drive letter to appear in Windows?

Unfortunately because of this problem i didnt get the new ssd because i thought it would not work. When i connect my hdd to the old sata it wont boot and i get no bootable media device error.

Did you set the the new HDD in the cd-rom to sata adapter as the primary boot drive in the BIOS?

No i just choose in boot menu and only the cd-rom adapter shows n it the other one does not.
