Bought a new hard drive and working on copying over all my files. Almost done but now whenever I go to copy anything to the drive it just disappears. Doesn't show up under my computer, not under disk management. Just gone. Restarting the PC will bring it back but as soon as I try to copy to it it vanishes again. No idea what's going on with it. I can still go on it and navigate it and read from it but can't copy anything to it.

How many SATA ports do you have on your motherboard? I would double check to make sure it's plugged in correctly or use an entirely different port on your motherboard if you could. The proper configuration is to put your Boot/OS drive on SATA0 (the first one).. unless you want your DVD drive to be the first boot device. What is your power supply? Does it have enough juice to run everything?

There's a total of 7 SATA ports and I've tried using a different one with the same issue. I've got a separate hard drive with my OS and everything on it and was basically gonna just have all my media on this one. My power supply is a 550 watt and just using those power supply calculators it should be good, it worked with it fine for a couple days too before this happened.
