Hi there. I have a Lenovo Legion Y520-15IKBN (80WK) with two drives - one SSD with OS on it and one HDD where I keep everything else. I bought it used two years ago and there were always some problems with the drives (SSD disconnected a few times, a few blue screens) but everything always went back to normal after a reboot.
The HDD has been making some concerning noises for the past few weeks and two days ago it disconnected for the first time. I rebooted my laptop and everything was fine again. Yesterday, I was playing a game that kept lagging and freezing constantly (which never happened before) and after that, it crashed. I've got an error telling me that my desktop is unavailable, and my HDD wasn't visible in the file explorer again. I rebooted it a few times until it was visible and then I checked Crystal Disk Info. It showed that I have 1 current pending sector. I ran a scan in HD Tune. It kept freezing, my disk sounded like an electric shaver, and then the drive disconnected again. After maybe 5 reboots, the drive was visible and I ran the scan again. This time nothing was freezing, the disk was relatively quiet and the results showed that nothing is damaged. Nothing's changed in CDI (still 1 current pending sector and 0 reallocated). Today I had to reboot my laptop a few times until the disk was visible, everything seemed fine for a while but in the middle of writing this, it disconnected again.
So, does anyone have any idea what it could be? And is there any way to fix it?
