It's been about 6 months and I keep having this problem of my second desktop harddrive turn on and off constantly. If i kinda shake or readjust the power chord that goes to my harddrive, it sometimes stops and runs smoothly again. I've asked on another forum by giving my computer details and because of my 2 gtx1050ti, x99 motherboard etc, they said that my 600w power supply might be the issue in that it is not enough power. I just wanted to make sure that this is what most people think before I make a hundred dollar purchase for something like an 800 watt PSU.

Also, the BIOS screen takes about a minute to show up from the moment I start up my computer (literally give or take 60 seconds). On another post, someone told me to restart my CMOS which I probably did like 10 times. Do you think that the PSU might be affecting that too?

1. I certainly would hesitate about purchasing a new PSU at this time. It's true I've never even heard of a "Lone" PSU, but a 600W PSU is ample wattage for your system. Unless you have actual evidence that the current PSU is defective - either by using a PSU power tester or the most desirable evidence of all - substituting a known working PSU - I don't think it's appropriate to purchase a new PSU.

2. Have you tested that Avexir SSD with some diagnostic drive program? If not, do so.

3. Ditto for the Toshiba HDD.

4. Can we assume that when the sole drive connected is your SSD boot drive you encounter no problems of any kind? It's only when the secondary HDD is connected?

5. You've tried connecting one or more different PSU SATA power...

5. You've tried connecting one or more different PSU SATA power connectors to the Toshiba assuming they're available? Same problem?

6. Is there any chance at all you could get your hands (even temporarily) on a different PSU to substitute to see if the PSU is the problem?

7. You could purchase a PSU tester, e.g., https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA90839G2545&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleMKP-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleMKP-PC-_-pla-_-Gadgets-_-9SIA90839G2545&gclid=CjwKCAjw2NvLBRAjEiwAF98GMbEpuxFVghW7D7kZSnkp0cCTI-FLnFigfLDsrKPYvp6RwplPvsMkshoCvo8QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
or,

or some such.

The problem with these power testers is that they're not always definitive in terms of determining whether you might be dealing with a defective PSU. As I mentioned the very best evidence is substituting a known non-defective PSU for the suspect installed PSU.

8. The problem could very well be an erratic Toshiba HDD. I assume, of course, that you've tried connecting the Toshiba to other SATA data ports/connectors but with the same results.
