Hi,

Just wondering if anyone could help with my problem.

I have a couple of HDD's installed in an old desktop running linux, and want to move them to my new desktop which is running Windows 7 and not lose any of the files on it

Just wondering if it's a case of plugging the the HDD's in, or are there any other bits i need to be aware of.

Thanks in advance

Solution
Step1 - backup the files you dont want to lose.
Step 2 - make sure your backed up files actually backed up correctly.
Step 3 - If your windows pc has a graphical bios, enterht eh bios and disable secure boot and enable CSM/Legacy mode.
Step 4 - move your linux drives over.
Step 5- either A: install a linux drive/format reading program in windows (will likely be read only) or B: reformat the drives to a windows format and then reload your backed up files.

Thankyou for the reply. Unfortunately the case that the old hard drives are in is quite old and the usb ports don't work. Other than putting this in a new case to do what you recommended, are there any other options? Was hoping for for it to be easy plug and play -.-'
