HDD making clicking noise?

Hello, I just got a new WD Black when its in use, it makes a sort of erratic clicking noise, is this normal, should i be worried?

If a drive stops working and makes clicking noises at the same time, that's not good as it means definite drive failure.

However, if the drive is clicking but otherwise working okay, you should test it with WD Data LifeGuard Diagnostic.

If the drive is not a system drive, test with the Windows version.
If it's a system drive, test with the bootable CD (DOS) version.
