Couple days ago i formated all of my hdd's while making clean install and now i'm having one of them making weird clicking/snapping sound every once a while. This haven't affected performance so far and windows error check didn't find anything . So i was wondering what would cause such issue? Only reason i can come up with is bad sata cable, as i installed my new m.2 ssd i unplugged the sata cable from hdd's, could that be the cause?

During past days, i've now noticed something more alarming. The games i've now installed to the hdd lags out/freezes for moment when i hear the clicking sound. Nothing critical, but it's quite annoying to get 1 second freeze on important moment and i doubt its normal

Standard HD's(especially older 3.5" ones) can make loud sounds reminiscent to "clicking" while they are actively loading/opening something. If you haven't noticed it before AND it sounds constant, then it's most likely a failing drive.
That HD Tune app is decent. If you are put off by the trial/buy links, you could also try out CrystalDiskInfo: https://crystalmark.info/download/index-e.html
Under "Standard Edition", you can download either the .zip(portable) or the .exe(installer). Either of the 2 applications will let you know relatively quickly if your HD is bad.

running the test shows that everything should be okay, although i didn't get the "clicks" while doing benchmarks. it happens completely randomly, sometimes i get many clicks and sometimes its fine for hours
