HDD Making Sounds

Solution
You need to get that disk out of there and slave it to a PC so you can remove all your data. The connector and cable would only cost a small amount of money on e-Bay. Look for 2.5" hard drive caddy and make sure it comes with a three ended cable.

Alternatively, take it to a professional PC Fixer but do it soon -every time Windows runs, it's putting a strain on the disk..

Hard disks should only make a feint whirring sound - anything else is a warning sign.

rayonnation12, would like to add that having a good back up plan can get you out of a sticky situation.

Basically you want:

3 copies of any data you don't want to lose
2 different mediums it's stored on (so 2 different drives in your computer, for example)
1 copy kept offsite, to prevent against disaster.
