hdd mq01abf050 problem? cant figure out whats wrong plz advice!

Hello all,
first of all plz forgive me for my english,
i have a NEW hdd toshiba 500gb mq01abf050 ( i removed it from a brand new laptop so i can make it external) in a brand new natec rihno usb.20 hdd case , so everytime i connect to a pc ( NO MATTER WHAT PC ) the windows sounds recognise a new usb mass storage but i cant see it , disk management windows recognise it but it doesnt apply a letter on the hdd . i said ok i will assighn a letter no problem on that,
But when i disconect the drive the HDD letter remains ( in my pc ) and when i reconnect again no letter assigned to the hdd, so i have to do the same steps again ,go to disk management assighn a letter then i can see it, remember that this is happening TO ANY PC with windows i even changed an external case
the hdd sentinel shows no error 100% health.

Hey there, zeelias.

This is pretty weird indeed. Especially if it happens with different PCs and a different external enclosure. Have you tried reformatting the drive and then connecting it again to see if the issue still persists? If no - give it a try. You should also check if a regular external drive will have the same issue as well. Give it a go with a different USB cable as well (I know that most probably this has nothing to do with it, but just humour me if you will).
