Hi all,
I have added a new 80G HDD to my PC (P4 1.6G, 40G previously, 640M SDRAM),
but since there is a noise that I suspect coming from the HDD. What may be
the cause? May a change of power supply help solve the problem? I have
already made sure the noise is not coming from the CPU fan.
Thanks for your help,
Patrick

Some hard drives are noisier than others.
If the noise sounds like a chattering sound - that is normal.
My Maxtor is silent, my Samsung is very noisy.

Perhaps the noise is due to looseness between the drives and the cage. Use
new screws, and perhaps one or two cardboard shims, to reinstall the drive,
ensuring that the screws are tight.
Press on the cage near the drive while operating to test.
