I've recently made a jump from an old Core 2 Duo machine (Legacy BIOS) to a Sandy Bridge (2nd Gen.) platform and I'm facing a TON of issues with my old HDD.
1. Can't install Windows on my old disk. Whenever I do; it gives me a "Media Driver" error i.e "A media driver your computer needs is missing". I tried everything from forcing the PC in 'Legacy Mode' to running the HDD in "IDE" mode but no luck.
2. Out of sheer frustration I installed OS in another HDD (while in Legacy/IDE Mode) and it installed without a hitch. And while my old disk is showing up in BIOS, Windows still can't detect it. At least not properly:
Is there ANY way to install Windows or at least retrieve my important data from the old disk?
Thanks!
