hdd not dected in computer

Installed new 2 Tb HDD. Comes up in bios but not seen on computer.

hit start, type "disk management," hit enter, find the disk in there, assign it a drive letter

I'd agree with the suggestion above and advise you to check Disk management in Windows to see if the HDD is recognized there. It should be listed with a black bar with unallocated space, which should allow you to Format the hard drive. If you are still unable to see it, try the option in Disk management to Rescan Disks, it should detect the new hardware. IF nothing helps, try swapping the SATA cable that is connecting the 2 TB hard drive and also check how it will get detected from another SATA port on the motherboard.

Thanks both, just beat you to it last night. It needed the hdd assigned using Disk Management as you say - something I had not heard of before. Seems it assigned the first 3 hdd's but not the 4th. Something so simple had me almost tearing my hair out. Thank you, thankyou. Very much appreciated. Regards...
