I have three sata HDD
1) Western Digial Caviar Blue - 500 GB
2) Seagate Barracude - 1TB
3) Seagate Barracuda - 250 GB

I configured AHCI in bios and connected just the 500 GB drive and installed Win 8 Enterprise Edition. After installing, I connected the other two drives. BIOS detects all three hard drives, but when I boot into Win 8, 250 GB hard disk is not detected. I checked in the Disk Management and also in the Device Manager. Both doesn't show this HDD.
What might be the problem?

EDIT : Just found that even my DVD Drive is not being detected in Win8. It was there until I connected the other hard drives. So, Is there any limit like only 2 SATA Connections?? I am using Asus P8B75 motherboard

Solution
Nope no artificial limit...

Check to verify whether the 250GB isn't connected to the SATA 6Gb port on the board. If so, perhaps you need newer drivers for the SATA controller to pick up the last drive.

Only the 500GB drive on which OS is installed supports 6GB/s. And it is connected to the only 6gbps port on the board. The OS detects only two SATA ports, i think. I disconnected 1TB drive and connected the 250 GB to that port and it worked.
Also, just checked asus website and my drivers are uptodate.

Glad to hear it started working, but FYI - You can plug a drive that's only capable of 3Gb into a 6Gb port and it will operate. The higher speed ports and controllers are fully backwards compatible.
