[SOLVED] HDD not recognised (sata 3 (hdd)to sata 2(mobo))

Hi,
I’ve recently bought a new hdd which is sata 3. I’ve got a sata cable and plug it into my motherboard which says sata 2 but it won’t show up. I can hear it’s getting power. I also thought sata 3 was back compatible.
