Hey all! First of all, I know there are many threads about this but none seem to have a solution to my problem.

I built a new pc, it's my 4th build. I did everything right, got an SSD with windows on it running perfectly but I also got an HDD, a 1 TB WD Green. This HDD has never been used and shows up in the bios. It doesn't show on My Computer, Disk Management or anywhere else. Although, it appears on Device Manager in the Other Devices section.

I've had another HDD working on the same sata port and even tried switching the ports but with the same result: No recognition.

Does anyone have a solution or the same problem?

Solution
Hey there, Kappta.

Congrats on the new build and sorry to hear about the issues you're having with the WD Green drive.
I'd suggest that you try it with a different computer, to see if the same thing happens again. I'd also recommend that you download DLG (Data Lifeguard Diagnostics) and run both tests (Quick and Extended), to see if anything unusual pops-up. Here's how to do it: How to test a drive for problems using Data Lifeguard Diagnostics for Windows

Please let me know how everything goes.

Solution

It doesn't work on another computer and it's brand new but I can't send it back to repair or substitute because it was a friend of mine who gave it to me directly from a supplier, maybe that was the catch..

I guess i'll just have to get another then. Thanks anyway for your advice Boogieman! I will run those tests later today.

Sorry for the late update. Turns out the drive is dead, somehow. It's ok tho since it was free for me. I'll just grab a new one!
