Hi everyone, I asked this last year but with no answer.
I have an HP 15 series with 1TB HDD, but I replaced it with a Kingston 120 GB SSD. I want to use the original HDD as second drive in a caddy, but this particular hdd can't be recognized by windows even in disk management and the boot is slow when this hdd is connected even if the hdd is formatted.
The strange fact is that I can use an older hdd in the same caddy with no problem and the boot is as fast as it would be with an ssd.

EDIT:I updated the BIOS by downloading files from the HP website and now the HDD works in the caddy. Problem solved

EDIT 2: I restarted my PC and the hdd isn't visible again after I cloned the old hdd on this, and now I can't make it visible again, even if I clear it.

The problem is that sometimes he can see the hdd, but the boot is extremely slow and then the hdd disappear from windows after the reboot.
