Hey all,
I got a new external HDD enclosure for christmas and when I put in my old HDD into it and attached it to the USB it tells me it wants to format it?? I used a USB to SATA connector and the HDD showed all files. In the windows explorer it shows the HDD but nothing much more. In the disk management it shows the HDD just as normal as can be. So I looked into this more and this screenshot shows alot I feel.

Any help would be TREMENDOUS!!!

Hi there pamiller21,

So the drive is working just fine when attached with SATA to USB right? In case it is, you can run disk check on it and try accessing it when in the enclosure afterwards. Here's how: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/check-your-hard-disk-for-errors
In case the issue persists, then I guess there could be something wrong with the enclosure.
I guess you can back up all the data stored on the drive and format it.

Hope this will help,
