OS: windows 7 sp1
HDD: seagate barracuda 1tb
Motherboard: gigabyte ga-990fxa-ud3 (rev 2)
graphics card: gigabyte radeon r9 280x
ram: g skill ripjaw x series 8gb
cpu: amd fx 8350

after building my new pc i went to the bios to check if everything was good and i noticed my cd drive was listed twice but one just had uefi (UEFI: hp DVD-RAM GH60L) next it and the other was the cd drive(P3: hp DVD-RAM GH60L). but i noticed my 1tb hdd was not there. i then went to install windows 7 and see if it would show there when if asked me to select the hardrive for install and it did but it was only 128gb. i shut the computer down and made sure everything was plugged in correctly and even switched out the data cables for the hdd to be sure and it still said 128gb. windows7 wont let me install to the hdd either.i also noticed my hdd activity light on my case is not blinking either.

Edit: BIOS version is F2 if i need to update my BIOS to fix this issue plz link a site or video so i can figure out how to do it

Anyone? sorry for bumping but i am stumped on why this is happening and the other threads i have looked through don't seem to have the issues im having its normally the other way around for them. my previous pc never had this issue and it was the same motherboard and same BIOS version for that one aswell.

im just going to send my hdd back as DOA cause 1:no HDD activity light. 2: Windows only seeing it as 128gb. 3:BIOS not seeing the HDD even after switching the cables around in the sata slots and replacing cables 4:The HDD makes a weird single beep sound then stops making the normal ticking sounds a HDD should make. I will leave this thread open to anyone else that has the same issues as me and does not have to spend hours upon hours looking for a solution just to find out the HDD is dead. thanks anyways.
