Alrighty, I don't know what's going on. I have a 500GB HDD, it shows up in BIOS, but it won't show up in "This PC" It has files on it. But after I reinstalled windows, it doesn't show up anymore. Any ideas how to make it visible? It shows in BIOS, so it's working, but it doesn't show in "This PC"

Solution
windows+X
choose disk management
see if it's listed there, if it is, assign it a drive letter

Edit: too late, others have already said it all. The "it shows up occasionally" points more towards hard disk controller though, meaning it's a dying thing. backup when you can
It's a problem I've had a few times, but not since 3 days ago, and it's rarely (though can be) serious.
Get a free Partition manager from Aomei, Mini Tool or EaseUs.
I expect when you see the disk on one of these, it will not have a drive letter assigned.
Assign a Letter, give the drive a name (I think Petal's nice myself) and hopefully your problem will be sorted.
If you haven't used a Partition Manager before, you will need to "Apply" the changes.
i.e. It gives you a graphical representation of the changes you have requested, you then have to confirm you're sure you want to go ahead.
Reboot and the drive will be in "This PC" again.......probably.
Good Luck.

I got it.. Had too assign a letter too it, it was already partitioned and I had to do something else, but now it's showing. It was blue instead of black and I thought I couldn't do anything, but found an option and it worked. Thanks man
