This is my first post on here because i cant find a solution anywhere.

So today I get in my computer, play some games, leave the computer to go to the store for an hour, come back and try to open steam but it says it cant find the file path. First thing i thought was to check my power plan because that caused it before. Set the drive to never idle again and rebooted. Still missing, 4 hours on google and youtube and all I can find is to go to disk management (drive wont show up there), so i tried changing my sata port and cable. Still not there, loaded fail safe defaults, nothing, looked in my bios and it says its there. I check my mobos website for drivers and their is only raid ahci drivers. After a while of rebooting windows says it needs to format the drive to use it, i try that and it says it cant. I boot from the install cd and see if i can format from there and it cant find it either. So now my windows 7 boot time strangly is incredibly slow. I have my os and most of my drivers on a Western digital 500gb caviar blue so i can still use whatever is on that, the only thing that wont show up is the Seagate 2tb.

Solution
Hello There,

Win 7 hides empty drives by default. CLick on Organize- folder and search options > select the View tab and uncheck the empty drives in the computer box folder.

If the drive is not yet formatted, make sure you run through the steps above and then type diskmgmt.msc into the Start Menu search bar. Here you should see all drives connected to your computer. Format as necessary and then they will appear in the Computer folder.

Hope this helps you. Let me know if this solution was helpful to you
