Hello everyone. It's my pleasure to be inside this great community. Hope someone helps me !

I've recently purchased a WD 1To HDD, the HDD was detected by my computer running Windows 10, but right after creating a partition, the HDD got deleted from the Disk Utility.

So when looking close, the HDD is still showing but not detected, and whenever I restart my computer, the HDD has strange serial numbers in the BIOS (before, it was WD10EZEX and now, it's something like ems zi efo0 G Bsin...)

Any help would be appreciated ! Thank you !

Doesn't appear at all.

Check the cable.
What specific motherboard and other drives are in this system? Make/model/size, please.
I've tried two cables and all 4 SATA available ports, plus 2 SATA power cables, the HDD spins.

My computer : HP Z400 - Xeon W3680 - 24GB DDR3 - RTX 580
Other Drives : SATA #0 (primary one in blue) - Crucial BX500 240GB // SATA #5 Optical Drive (The one that comes with HP).

I did put the WD HDD in all #1, #2, #3 and #4 SATA slots without any change. The hard drive is working but not recognized.

This probably indicates hardware failure.
The only problem is the HDD is a new one, I've run a full DD using Linux but right after, I keep getting a I/O Error Input Output, at least, the strange serial numbers are gone and I get in the BIOS my WD10EZEX.

Trying to install Windows 10 on that HDD get me the disk as unlocated disk, getting an error can't partition when I use the button new; in diskpart, I can clean the disk but I cannot use the create partition (CRC).
The disk in the first use was pointing at 0.1H in CrystalDiskInfo. So it's a new one

"New" does not preclude "faulty". DOA.
Yes, it happens. Thisis what warranty is for.
I've booted GParted (Parted Magic) and after running smartctl, I've got these informations :

Is there anything else I can do ?

I've managed to boot Parted Magic and use GParted (which is at the moment blocked in the retrieving data without giving me any access to any drive). I've done a DD (Disk Format with Zeros, with a format or the MBR / GPT partition table), and I've found that I can see the drive in CrystalDiskInfo. But still, it isn't detected in my Disk Management.
Also, the BIOS serial number of the HDD has changed, it has returned to it's primary state showing WD10EZEX

I've tried booting Hiren's BootCD to use the WDDIAG but the hard drive isn't recognized.

I've done a dd format in zeros, the format process is completed without errors, SMART doesn't give any error, but I can't access the HDD in GParted.

Any updates please ?
