So my friend as this problem, I can open the laptop, access the mobo (bios, memtest,DSKchk),but after that I see the windows 7 starting, then blackscreen, and I can see the mouse but nothing else.

I checked the the HDD still plugged in (unplug and replug in case). The memtest says everything alright, but the chkdsk (quick or extended) fails after couple minutes or hours.
My guess is the HDD ofcourse but I'd like some other opinions before telling him to spend 80$ on a new one.

Could some sectors be corrupted, like the ones where windows happen to be? Can I do some repair if I have a windows 7 CD?

Solution
Could be the HDD or an issue with windows.

Take the drive out if you can, plug it into another PC, download and install Crystal Disk Info (Link in signature) and see if it say anything but good. if it is good it is a windows issue. If it is says caution or bad time to replace.
