Hello,
I have recently ordered a new laptop with 1TB HDD(7200 rpm), and I am thinking of partitioning it in 3 parts: one for programs and windows, the second for games and the third just for my files, pictures etc.

So I was thinking:
C: [Windows and programs]~ 350GB
D: [File and data storage]~350GB
E: [Games]~300GB

What do you think?

P.S.-The last time I installed a game in a computer was 8 years ago, so I honestly don't have any idea how much space games nowadays occupy (like Witcher 3, Shadow of mordor, skyrim, fifa 2015 etc)

I used to do that when I was younger... but over time I've learned it's not really efficient. If you have a single drive, like on a laptop, then it's OK to set up a couple of partitions (in my opinion).

If you want to create three... that's fine... but if I were you I would just create one additional one... with the second one being slightly larger than the O/S partition so Image Backups could be saved onto it.
