[SOLVED] HDD prevents me from booting up

So I built my first pc yesterday. Because of my limited budget, It only comes with an SSD. I did some research and found out that laptop HDD's can be used on desktops. So I installed an old HDD into my desktop, turned it on and I was stuck at the logo screen with the looping thing taking forever. Well the thing is, I dropped my laptop(Asus X455LF) at like 3ft. I tried to power it up again and it was the same case (Laptop won't boot up, stuck on Asus logo). I actually didn't know which part was broken. So back to the desktop problem. After realizing it was taking forever than normal, I restarted and went into the BIOS. It actually displayed both SSD and HDD. Sata cable was brand new, tried switching the cables from both drives, tried changing the boot priority, still won't work..

Specs: (everything is brand new)
Ryzen 5 3600
MSI B450M-A PRO MAX
Skihotar 8GB DDR4 2666MHz w/ Heat Spreader
MSI GTX 1050ti 4gb
Skihotar 240GB 2.5" SSD
Deepcool DE600 V2 600w

Solution
Disconnect the HDD.
Does it boot properly?

If so, likely that HDD is damaged.
