Question Hdd problem

This problem is really annoying me recently. I got a new 1tb hdd for my pc since i was running low on space. I went to go make a new volume and stuff on the harddrive but it for some reason either infinitely loads while trying to make the volume, or after making the volume it says its formatting then deletes itself off my screen and i cant see it on my list. I have to physically unplug and replug it back in for it to show up again... any ideas?

Just how are you doing it ?

Disconnect the 200GB drive (that must be really old) and just put in the new one, make sure your BIOS can see it. See how that goes (use the 200gb Sata cable as well).
