HDD RAID Configariation

Hello,

I recently found out that the 1TB HDD I had was the worst on the planet (Not to mention the cheapest $40), I heard an SSD is good, but they cost a lot.

So, I am going to order the AMD Radeon R7 240 GB SSD, but thats not enough storage for games...
Then I had an Idea to run Raid 0 on 3 identical HDD (which were lying around new) and use it for games.
So my question,
Can you run a SSD running speraetly from a RAID config?

Plus what Strip Size do I need for all the games with huge map files?

yes you can have ssd apart from hdd raid small stripe size for faster random and larger ones for large file transfer

Huh, whats RAID 5, sorry Linus only explains 0 1 and 10
Also if I run 3 drives from different companies but with exact same specs, will they work?

Yeah that should be able to work. Normally I dont recommend running 3 different drives.

Raid 5 I can lose a drive and not lose everything I had stored. Maybe some performance increase. But it's for redundancy.

Crucial MX100 is better and cheaper. $112 vs $144.

1. The AMD drive has better specs.
2. I have a lot of HDD's lying around, need better game map loading times.
