I have an admittedly old WDC WD1600JD-40HBC0. It seems to be running more or less fine. No BSDs, random slowdowns, or data corruption. It is geting very odd performance nubmers in CrystalDiskMark however.

As you can see the write speed are 50% to 100% faster than the read speeds. What in the world could cause this? Would bad cache memory do this?

These numbers are actually ok for my purposes but it's very odd and I couldn't find any similar results using Google. Mostly I'm just at a loss and wanted to share what seems to be a rare if not unique set of benchmarks.

SMART data for the drive is all good too.
