Hello all. I got HDD that keeps rebooting. Its like, I boot up PC, I set to shut it down in power plan after 5 mins. And then its like, it gets activated again. I listened to PC and its like vrooom and like something kicks and then it gets high pitched and goes to work again. And it does like after 15 mins that sound. Idk if its bad port or something. Its 500 GB Hitachi. Sometimes I get BSOD. And when I made before 2 partitions of 1, on that second partition I installed OS on it, I got constant BSODs and failing hard drive. I disconnected one 250gb HDD which I thought it brings problem, but still this HDD which I got in replacement of old one at PC store gives problems. And when it gives BSOD and PC restarts, all other HDD drivers gets disconnected from My PC when I try to access it. Only this main OS HDD 160 GB is activate. Could it be bad ports? Why when I get BSOD, all other including this HDD got disconnected and main one works. Could it be power supply? Its 500W. Could it be bad HDD? I dont get these brand new. Maybe I should buy new one its 50$ 500GB. If so, recommend me best.

Solution
Im not accessing it at all. When it gets shut down after 5 mins, it gets activated again. As I said, it gives BSOD from time to time. What could be problem?
Something is waking it up from sleep, you don't have to access it intentionally, windows "Sleep" is pretty flaky. Beside that, disk sleep setting is for all disks at same time, not individual ones, so if it accesses one disk, all wake up.
BSOD may be result of disk not getting online fast enough but you would be wise to check it's health anyway.

When in sleep mode a HDD stops spinning until accessed, when it wakes up it has to spin up again and go thru self check all over again.
