HDD reformatting procedure wanted..

Hello....I would like to be directed to any URL or other source that will specifically detail how to re format an existing WIN 98 HDD that has kernel32.exe infected with a virus and will be re formatted. User has original WIN 98 CD. Please be specific-I have to phone talk a layman civilian thru this.

reboot

put win98 cd in
at a: prompt type
c:
to switch to c: prompt
type
setup <enter>
