I recently fresh installed windows 8.1 onto an SSD, and now i am ready to re-format the old HDD so its "new." I put in the HDD, shows up in bios, but poof, not in Windows. I have looked through the managers, re scanned, refreshed, even made sure the HDD was connected correctly, and nothing. Bios is set up so the SSD is boot first, then the optical drive. HDD is set up to boot second after the SSD in the hard drive section of the Bios. What should i do? All i see is "C;" "system reserved," and "Optical D; Drive."

Thanks, Jesse.

Okay Never mind i figured out what was wrong! I did a little more thinking, and thought, maybe it isn't appearing because in the bios i have it set up as the second boot option in hard drives. Restarted the pc, disabled it in bios, and poof it appeared! Thanks for the help esco_sid!

generally no but it is a pretty common issue when a drive appears in bios and not windows.

Do you have any idea how i can go about this?
