HDD Speeds up and down (200 Mb/s - 3 Mb/s)

Hi,
I have had my Seagate 3Tb HDD for 1-2 years now and i haven't had a problem with it till now it seems to be having trouble with its read/write speeds.

i am running the error scan now but that is going to take a while also my steam download speeds have been running slower since this happened i don't know if that is related but if it is i wouldn't be surprised.

First, I'd start by backing up all the data from the HDD somewhere off-site before proceeding with the troubleshooting! Then, I'd recommend you try connecting your 3 TB HDD to a different SATA port on your motherboard and also use a different SATA cable with it. Hopefully, that would fix your issue. Another thing you could try is connecting the hard drive to another computer (if you have access to one) and see how it will perform there. It's also advisable to use your HDD's brand-specific diagnostic tool to check up on the health and SMART status.
