Nothing major, just curious about this that's all.

I'll be on my android phone, and I would be watching a "on-the-device"/offline video for 30+ minutes. I then decide to open chrome app and browse around, or open the youtube app to watch some videos online. Basically by using wifi, I can hear my HDD on my PC seeking/being active. So I'm just wondering why this happens?

I'm not requesting any files or data from that PC, just causally browsing youtube/websites on chrome/firefox on my android phone.

Wait a sec. Using your phone on wifi causes your PC to hear hard drive spinning sound? Wtf. Your hard drive should be spinning on its own anyways it shouldn't be caused by your phone wifi... A phone should not affect another device via hard drive. In the background of your PC though, processes like Windows update could be updating stuff, and Internet caches and history can be saved, etc. but your phone shouldn't affect it at all...

But it does. I'm not on the PC and it has been idle for some time. But, at times when I start up chrome/youtube to load a website/video when I haven't used wifi in say 30+ mins, I can clearly HEAR a hdd spinning/seeking. The timing is too good for it be a coincidence.

Again, not too bothered by it, but just curious as to why this happens.
