I recently got a new laptop, a ROG G750JZ with 2 1tb HDDS, and it is running great. I decided to ditch one 1TB HDD in order to add in an ssd. I grabbed a 120gb Intel 535 as I didnt want to keep throwing money at this laptop and wanted to take advantage of free stuff with the SSD lol. I took out one of the HDDS, put the SSD in, cloned it with Reflect and powered off. I took one HDD out and could not see boot options for the SSD in my bios. I tried with the 1TB hdd in and it shows that. Can someone guide me as to how to get my SSD as my boot drive via cloning so all my steam links work and I do not have to reinstall windows? I really dont want to have to try find a 16gb flash drive and do the ASUS backtracker thing, but if I really have to then I will.

Solution
You should use a different letter for the SSD, but I guess this is not one of the main concerns anyway.
It seems like there might be some compatibility issue, I don't see why you'd get the laptop manufacturer's name on the SSD as well, as it is with the HDDs. Perhaps you should get in touch with the laptop manufacturer's customer support and ask how to do this procedure or try with a fresh install of Windows.
There are cases where some laptop models can't be upgraded with just about any drive (I know it's a bit ridiculous, but trust me, I've seen similar cases more than once).

Other than that, you could try resetting your BIOS/UEFI or updating if there's a newer version, to see if that fixes things up. Another option would be to check...
Hey there, darkchief1.

So you boot properly to Windows with the 2 HDDs connected, but not with the SSD + HDD connected to the computer?
Would you please post a screenshot of what you see about the 2 HDDs and their partitions in Disk Management (you can use imgur.com to upload the image). Here's how to access it: How to access Disk Management in Windows to manage hard drives.
You could try following this cloning procedure: http://lifehacker.com/5837543/how-to-migrate-to-a-solid-state-drive-without-reinstalling-windows, to see if you have better luck. Other than that, if this helps, you can move your Steam installation along with the games: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7418-YUBN-8129

Hope that helps. Please let me know how it goes.

http://imgur.com/a/pzokR Here is the Imgur link, and I will try the cloning procedure that you have linked here to see if that provides different results.

EDIT: Just tried that migration method, SSD didnt show up in bios after I did it, again, with the only difference between this method and the one that I originally did was roughly half a gig worth of files. Back to square one lol.

Another option would be to check if the SSD has a firmware update available and if it does, you can install it to see if you can do the cloning process successfully afterwards.

Please keep me posted.

So I saw your reply before I went to work and grabbed a 32GB usb stick off a local auction site and it got here the next day, which was a saturday, woo!. I used the Asus Backtracker and that was more simple than I could ever imagine. I got the drive ready with the program, turned the laptop off and took out the original HDD and left the SSD in there. Turned back on and let it install and boom, my SSD now works, it was just the clone that didnt work for some unknown reason. Needless to say, this will be silent for any light tasks that I do endeavor to do now, which was one of the goals. The boot still isnt as fast as my desktop but once in I can open chrome and whatnot so much faster now, so it was worth it to me. Thanks for the help,
