Hi, bit of a basic/stupid question.

I bought a new PC last year that has an SSD and HDD drives. i've only used the SSD drive so far.

I'm not sure how to move files to the HDD drive, i'm guessing both can be used at the same time. does the HDD drive need formatting or do i need to do something else?

Thanks for the help.

What are you considering using the HDD for?

I'm trying to make more room available on the SSD by switching the files to HDD as the SSD is faster

I've added files to my desktop, they store straight on to the SSD, i don't how to put them on the HDD
The 'desktop' lives on your C drive, the SSD.

In File Explorer, crate a folder on the D drive (the HDD)
Name it MyVids.

You can create a shortcut to that folder, and that folder live on your desktop.
Or, just copy/paste files from your desktop or wherever, to the MyVids folder on the D drive. Then, delete from where they were originally.
