HDD stared to be slow and weird after "accident"

My computer starts acting weird and my Hard Drive seems to be the problem. I left my PC on sleep mode last night and when I woke up, All of the PC's power cord and other electronics(Speaker set & printer) cords were remove from the outlets, apparently some "smart" members of the family wanted to save power by removing all plugged in appliances no matter how sensitive those things are. As I start my PC I noticed that it slower in general, after the Mobo manufacturer logo appears a cmd-like blackscreen with white dash appears for a couple of seconds, after that a slow "Please wait" for at least a minute appears and after i logged in my password, another slow startup appears.

Also all of the programs starts slower now and some of these program like GPU tweak didn't startup automatically when it should be.

I did some basic scans for suspicion of virus, rootkits and TDSS aren't detected and a deep scan is going underway.

I also did a chkdsk but no errors are found, did the same process using a 3rd party software and it gave the same result.

Did check the hardware and it seems that the HDD is the only that "In my hunch" is damaged.

This is the first time my Hard drive acted like this after a year and 4 months and sure hope that it's not a bad sector but this is a first time i've seen this type of error other than the notorious symptoms of bad sectors.

My specs:

Intel i-5 4440 @ 3.0 Ghz - 3.4Ghz turbo.
MSI B85M-p33 Motherboard @ default BIOS
Antec VP450P PSU
Asus GTX 750Ti 2GB GDDR5 128-bit
Toshiba 1TB Hard drive @ 7200RPM
Kingston Hyper-X Fury 16GB(8x2 sticks)
Asus CD/DVD-rom drive

Update: Looks like Registry worms are the cause. I was scanning for registry fragmentation when i noticed how slow the scan takes. Usually it's just 1-3 minutes but the scan lasted for 2 hours straight.

Solution
If you want to reinstall, make a new partition and install on that. Won't have to copy everything on another drive. At least you'll see if Windows is working properly on your disk. Try running Windows AIO from tweaking.com. Maybe that could help fix something
Test your HDD with Western Digital Lifeguard tool. Maybe settings in the BIOS were changed or something(time, boot settings...)? Turn off, unplug all cables. press power button to empty any power still in the system then try again.

Well, if your hard drive has a lot of data on it, it is bound to be slow. Try clearing up some stuff you don't need. You can also try de fragmenting your HDD. If your computer seems to be slow, it may just be the hard drive in general. You can get a 120GB SSD for around about under $50. They are cheap, but man do your boot times decrease.

Disk could be nearly full and not be slow. If you had lots of startup programs then that wouldn't help but if it's only since PC was unplugged whilst in sleep mode then I doubt that changes anything.

My hard drive only have 26GB of space left for a few days now lol, but that doesn't seem to be the trigger here but i'll do a data margin and see if it's fix if i free up to 60GB for C and 20GB for D.

I'm looking at a samsung 850 EVO as an upgrade but so yeah it may be slow in boot times but generally it okay in ways that it's much more protected from shock since it's a solid state and not a disk platter.

I did that a couple of times and i didn't notice anything from the Hardware and also in the BIOS, almost everything is int default settings except for the PCI-e Buffer time set at 128-bit. There are only 4 device connected to the PC which is a USB mice & Keyboard, Printer & Bass Speaker jacked.

Well I spend an all nighter and did all the best that I cou'd, a virus scan didn't detect it, Windows malware removal tool didn't detect it, TDSS killer & Rkill already deleted some minor viruses. Did all the cleaning and software maintenance like defragmenting, wiping etc., but still no avail to it. A format might be a solution for this but formatting a 1TB HDD could take long and I don't enough backup space for all my files(games, movies & important softwares & documents).

Solution

thank you sir for your unstoppable support and troubleshooting!

I finally found the problem after stripping down my Rig. It's my GPU that causes the overall problem due to the power being suddenly stopped while it's on. "<<Reading media...no Media reader found>>" flashes for a few seconds after the Mobo logo appears when I use my Asus Gtx 750ti, this problems does not appear when built HD graphics and HDD are used.

The GPU is newly bought so a warranty should suffice if they fix it in time anyways.

Anyways thank you for the suggestions and help for this past few days.
