I recently bought a new HDD for storage on my computer. I have a ssd already installed and it has os on it. my problem is that my HDD shows up in bios and in device management but it doesn't show up in my storage or anything. The HDD is a WD 1tb blue.

Welcome to the community, @smithsheldon814!

Colif is right. In order to make the HDD's capacity accessible and visible through the Windows Explorer, you will need to initialize the HDD in Disk Management, and again from there to partition & format it. There's no need to use third-party software tools for this procedure. The tutorials from our kb should help you with the step-by-steps.

Let us know if you need further assistance! :) Good luck!

I should have mentioned in post but the two links I dropped have the disk management steps, I wasn't really suggesting they use the software. I probably didn't even notice they were WD drives :)

Its been... almost 6 years since i had to set up my own new disc. So I wasn't sure if you had to initialise the drive.
