HDD to laptop

I have two HDD 3.5 inch in my desktop but I'm switching to a laptop. However I still want to be able to access my HHD's. What is the best (and not totally overpriced) way to do this?

Keep your desktop,
connect it to same network as laptop,
share data on network,
access data from laptop.

Also, you can always use Dropbox (or similar) and upload everything you need to Dropbox, so when you need it on another computer you can access it, also it's a great way to backup your data!
