HDD to SDD

Solution
The connectors are standard at this point (SATA power and SATA data). Since this is for a desktop, he can keep his old HDD as well (for files, documents, media, whatever) if the power supply has a second SATA power connector and you have a second SATA data cable. If you're not sure how to install the SSD, you can find easy tutorials on YouTube.

I assume you have a laptop and want to replace the internal drive with an SSD, in which case yes you should be able to. Just make sure the SSD has the same height as the HDD (this is listed in the specs provided by the manufacturer). Kingston also sells upgrade "kits" which also include an external enclosure so you can use your old HDD as an external hard drive if you want (the downside is that these kits are more expensive than the bare SSD).

Thanks for answer me ! well actually is in a desktop computer, is my dad's Dell Optiplex 790, I was not sure if the plugs/connectors will work
