Question HDD to SSD Cloning

I am attempting to migrate my OS and all folders from my aging 450GB HDD to a 500GB Samsung SSD. I have used all of the free tools out there with no luck (Aoemi, Paragon, Easus etc).
My last attempt appears to have cloned the drive but when I try to boot from the SSD I get "Bootmgr is missing". I compared the W7 folder structure between the two drives and I see that the SSD has three fewer files than my old C.
I am at my wits end and would love to hear what I am missing with this project.

Thank you

If all else fails, do a Win Disk Image to a sizable USB hard drive (if you have one) and then restore that to the new SSD.

Usually, in those clone pgms, there is an option to include the boot sector (which you apperently are missing). recheck your favorite pgm and see if you can find it.
