Okay so I've been thinking of buying an SSD for my gaming pc. However I'm holding back because I don't want to loose all my files and I just want the OS to be on the SSD not unnecessary files like pictures, videos, huge games (GTA....) and things like that. Please help because I'm really confused.

EXTRA INFO:
I have windows 10
The SSD is going to be 120GB/240GB
The current HardDrive is 1TB with 229GB left

Solution
1. Get a 240/250GB drive. Much better price vs size
2. You'll need another drive.
3. There is no function to move only the OS
4. The Samsung Data Migration (if you get a Samsung drive) allows you to leave off video/music/docs. But everything else goes.

So, with this new drive that you are going to buy...:)
Move stuff off the 1TB, until you are under 200GB actual used space.

You cant copy just the OS or selective programs; for things like that it is all or nothing.

You can either shrink your main drive, add a partition and relocate your files to it before copying your OS; or you will need a third drive (like external or flash dirve or cloud) to transfer your files to temporarily.
