Hello. I have a question regarding an ssd upgrade. My mom has an old acer e1 521 laptop which is really slow (amd dual core 1.4GHz, wd 320gb hdd, 3gb ram). I was thinking of replacing the hdd with a crucial mx300 ssd which I bought recently. So here's what's bothering me: will it make the laptop faster considering the slow processor or should I consider buying a better laptop with a more powerful processor! I'm really not a pc expert so I would be very grateful for any response. Cheers!

with older laptops most times they slow down is there a lot of things loading and not a lot of ram. use crucial free memory advisior see if her laptop can use more ram. with windows anything less then 8g now your going to slow down as some ram on most laptops is used for video. when replacing the old laptop see if mom wants another one or a small desktop.
