Hdd too hot

Solution
The maximum temperature most hard drives can handle is 50 degrees Celsius, but most Seagate and Western Digital HDDs can operate at up to 60 degrees Celsius. As long as it is still working properly, then It shouldn't be an issue. If you really want it to run cooler, then you could move it closer to an intake fan.

Well you car engine can handle up to 9000 RPM or so but you wouldn't want it to be revving all day long like that. For HD, high temp accelerates failure.

OP, you got a airflow issue.

BTW I assume this is not a 10K drive?
