HDD too noisy, how can I make it quieter?

I really can't splash $200 on a new SSD (well, I can, but I'm trying to save). How can I make my HDD much quieter? I bought new fans and I can't tell if they are noisy or not :/

I'd advise you to check how the HDD is mounted inside your PC rig and make sure there are no loose screws that could be causing extra vibrations. I'd also suggest you backup your data before proceeding with the troubleshooting. Better safe than sorry, right? Afterwards, make sure that it's indeed the drive that is making those noises. It's probably a good idea to use the drive manufacturer's brand-specific diagnostic tool to check up on its health and SMART status as well.
