hdd vanishes when in 3 seconds ,help

my hard drive is dead for sometime but i kept to cuz it contained some important data that i have been collecting for 15 yrs.i was recently lookin up hot to revive etc than i saw a post,in that there was a comment that try gently shaking it why it is boot up.so i tried and voila it worked but only for few seconds.comments was made by daswilhelm.plz if u r reading this or anyone else who got knowledge plz do share.drive isnt making beep noise etc.only spinning .

Hi there hackerz217,

What do you mean by vanishes? Check whether it is recognized by BIOS and Disk Management. In case it is, you can try using some data recovery tool.
In case it is not, my advice would be to contact a data recovery company. The fact that it gets recognized when you are shaking it, indicates some internal faulty.
Keep in mind that you shouldn't open up the drive itself as you will expose the platters to dust contaminated environment.

Sir,
I have been reading this everywhere that dont open it cuz dust particles will destroy your platter but from my experience i would say that its not like that at all.i have opened it for like 15 times and nothing bad happened ,the reason behind this which i think is that there are two cotton clothes attached in two corners near the platters so that in case if dust enters in there than it gets stuck on those cotton clothe.anyways,
