Question HDD weirdness

Hello

I am having HDD issues on attempting to clone main HDD to second HDD with clonezilla

software checks of the main drive before attempting cloning safe HDD is fine, but the clone fails half way thru

Does it give any error? Are the SMART readings of both drives good?

smart reading shows good always.
when you try and clone, the clone can fail or you get what sounds like crash on boot after cloning

lots of errors
