So I tried to download windows onto my 1 TB Toshiba external hard drive, but it turned it into this E usb drive with only 32 gb. That didn't seem right, so I looked up how to fix it, downloaded a program, and tried to recover my data. However, it didnt work, and now I am up a creek. In disk management it says that my disk is unknown, and not initialized. It has 931.51 Gb unallocated. When I try to initialize the disk, using MBR, it just gives me a data error (cyclic redundancy check.) It doesnt have a drive letter assigned to it, so I cant use chkdisk. Also, in diskpart, it doesnt show up when I type in list disk. I really don't know what to do, and I would appreciate any advice offered.

you don't download it onto your drive, you use the MS Media Creation TOol, and put it onto a n * GB or larger USB flash drive...

you then install it from USB onto the hard drive...
It's not the windows download that's the issue, it's the fact that I can't initialize the drive.
