Question HDDs constantly failing on main PC but work fine on others ?

Hey guys,

I've been having this issue with my main drive for the past few years. Every hard drive I've connected to it has failed to some capacity.
At first I started using this pc with a regular 7200 rpm hdd. After a month or two, it started stuttering, freezing, and the drive was constantly 'clicking'.
I've burned through around 5 hard drives but they all work properly on other systems, without any issues. I've switched to a m.2 nvme drive for my boot drive (which runs like a breeze), but am still struggling with keeping my hard drives connected and "alive" on my pc.
Could it my apartment's older circuitry that is the issue? Could it be a improper motherboard sata configuration or a problem with the sata controller?
Thank you in advance
